Mesh Partitioning — The Complete Guide for UK Businesses

5 JUNE 2026BY RACKSTOR UK LTD

What Is Mesh Partitioning?

Mesh partitioning is a modular system of steel wire mesh panels used to divide, secure and segregate areas within warehouses, factories and commercial premises. Unlike solid walls, mesh partitioning maintains visibility and airflow throughout the building while providing a strong physical barrier. It is faster to install than blockwork, significantly cheaper, and fully relocatable when your operational requirements change. Rackstor UK Ltd designs, supplies and installs mesh partitioning systems across the UK — from simple workspace segregation to high-security pharmaceutical caging.

Types of Mesh Partitioning

Single skin mesh partitioning is the most cost-effective option for general workspace segregation, storage area separation and light security applications. Security mesh cages use heavier gauge wire and reinforced frames to create enclosed secure storage areas for high-value goods, tools, IT equipment and controlled substances. Anti-collapse mesh is fitted to the back and ends of pallet racking bays to prevent pallets and items from falling through into adjacent aisles. Machine guarding mesh panels enclose machinery, robotic cells and automated systems to protect operatives from moving parts and dangerous processes.

Security Grades

Standard grade mesh uses 2mm wire with a 50x50mm aperture suitable for general segregation and light security. High security grade uses 3-4mm wire for stronger deterrence. Ultra high security uses 5mm wire for pharmaceutical, evidence and high-value goods storage.
